Big Girl!

Eila LOVES puppies!

An artist at work

Climbing to the top

Eila now has her own little table and chair- of course its a bit too big for her, but she likes to climb so it suits her fine. She'll grow into it soon. We went to Ikea on a big outing just yesterday and Eila had a ball. As usual she told all the little boys in the kids department "no no no" when they would use something that she wanted. We'll be looking to socialize her soon to work on the manners department of things. She is still a sweet little girl and gives lots of kisses and waves hello to everyone.

Eila and Kaelin at Cabin John Park

Eila has been visiting with her grandparents Ba and Dada here in Maryland and we took a little adventure down South to Virginia this weekend- actually just to Alexandria, but it was out of state so we'll call it a big outing. Eila loved the ducks in the water and the fountain on King Street was so joyfully intoxicating that she actually cried when we had to leave. We just got over a few days of fever and fussiness with no apparent cause and are back to happy baby as usual. Eila has 4 molars now and is enjoying some Indian food with her grandparents cooking up a storm here- she most loves chervdo- the Indian spicy cereal snack (kind of like chex mix with a kick!). Getting to sleep has become our new challenge suddenly about 2 weeks ago, so we have checked out all of the local library books on getting your baby to sleep. Hmmm....I'm not sold on anyone's theory yet, but we are making a little progress. Now it's papa's bonding time with Eila to have story time and night night! We also had a visit with Kaelin and her parent's Kim and Dinkar at Cabin John park and took a little choo choo ride around the park!

What a Wonderful Day!

Going for a peck on the cheek!

Lang son pal, Olivia!

Daddies and their little girls

New little gorgeous cousin!

Saturday July 12 was an eventful day for Eila- she welcomed a new baby girl cousin (name to be determined very soon!) into the world and she reunited with one of her Lang son buddies Olivia who now lives up in Baltimore! The new cousin, born to my brother and sister-in-law here in DC at 6:36am, is gorgeous and healthy and all are doing well!

In Baltimore, we played up at a park and had lunch with friends in before the tasty BBQ at Olivia's house. Eila, Olivia, and her two very handsome and charming big brothers had a great time playing in the back yard and we parents enjoyed catching up. I hope the girls will build a long lasting friendship over the years...for now they played around each other as cute little toddlers do, with occasional kisses and winks exchanged.

Boots and Bees!

Eila still likes 'B' words like boots and bees and she conveniently just got a pair of bee boots at a consignment store that she loves to wear, even though she can barely walk in them. She also now likes to make the sound like a bee makes- its something like "shtzleshtlze".
As for holiday celebrations, we enjoyed the 4th of July by daylight with a hike in Great Falls National Park with Carmen and Melissa and dinner with Anita...then to bed for Eila before the fireworks. We'll keep her up past bedtime next year. We wanted to put up a few pictures of Eila in her new retro shirt from her auntie Bindiya and enjoying her boots and the fancy princess 3rd year birthday party at her cousin Keya's house.
