Vernal Equinox!

We always welcome Spring with a great yelp of joy! What a breath of fresh air! Eila LOVES being outside and is wiggling with excitement over all the big fat worms that have come back to the yard. We spend a lot of time swinging, making mud cakes, gardening and lifting up rocks to see how many worms are hiding there. We went over the weekend to celebrate the coming of Spring to Brookside Gardens and took a few photos of the springing Spring.

Whew - What a long winter! We had an unexpected illness with Grandad that was very scary. After more than 2 months of illness there was a surprising and welcomed recovery with a great relief from us...and Grandad. In the midst of it all, we enjoyed being together and had some good times. Here are some pictures from the time we had not posted in Feb and early March. We went with Gigi and Grandad to Great Falls for a little hike, saw Kaelin, Kim and Dinkar at the National Building Museum, took trip to Philadelphia and saw Lauren, Bart and baby Max (who will turn one at the end of the month), we saw Lily, Bobby and Sandra May and made a trip to the zoo and the cupcake shop, of course, and had a nice visit from Carmen, Ying-wei and Ivy.

Happy Tet 2011- Year of the Cat !

Vietnamese New Year - The Year of the Cat

We have tried numerous times to enter Eila's little video of her proudly saying Happy New Year in Vietnamese, but to no avail...so we wanted to have something here to mark the celebration! We had a wonderful time at Eila's school reading "Ten Mice for Tet" and talking about Vietnam and shared a special snack of Vietnamese foods that we bought from a local Vietnamese grocer. We had a little celebration at home as well with the family (Michael, Bindiya, Keya, Cimeren, Gigi, Grandad and us) and a big Vietnamese meal to ring in the New Year.
